During the week my mom proved herself totally paranoid about my eating habits. She actually went and bought all this random Chinese food, and came over one night to the dorms and made dumplings for me. We went to Stonehenge together and had lots of afternoon cream tea sessions with jam and scones (yes, really).
I like London more than New York. It's prettier. I can now say I attended a service at Westminster Abbey and saw that stupid statue of Isaac Newton that plays such a big role in The Da Vinci Code. Woo! Also, drank Guiness and actually liked it. My dad thought it was too bitter but I didn't think it was actually. I'm probably going to turn into a raging alcoholic. Prepare yourselves.

Right across from the Parliament building and Big Ben.
It was weird being with my parents in London. Not having any pressing goals for the trip, I went into total passive mode and followed my parents around. Felt odd after being forced into total autonomy in the previous months. Is it okay to give up responsibility so willingly? I worry. However, my parents did concede that I am awesome at deciphering public transportation systems.

London at dusk, from the top of the London Eye. Biggest "observation wheel" (read: Ferris wheel) in the world?
So I'm back at Bournemouth now. Life here is very lax. I have one assignment. Granted it's a long-term project and probably the final result will be expected to be PERFECT, but I'm used to crazed one-week projects. I'm watching a lot of TV on the internet.
I'm really appreciating how lucky I was at MICA to meet all of you within weeks of arrival. It was so easy to become friends. Almost too easy. Here it is not easy. I hope you're all doing superbly and I miss you all. :]

Life here is lax here too. Basically I've been making myself work at least 4 hours a day, but try to work around 6 or 7 hours. I finally found out the only kind of requirement is that I work like 40 hours a week? Which has been fairly easy for me to achieve, since I don't do too much. I should explore more.. but it's hard to make myself do that.
So I have been watching a lot of movies.. and tv. 32 movies to be exact. Whenever I'm working I watch something. Sometimes I miss the craziness of MICA and the one week projects. But I am also enjoying being able to completely devote myself to one thing. It is SO nice to be able to do that. Because it is not something I can do at MICA and then things I make are always somewhat rushed.
And I agree. We were lucky to all meet each other and become such good friends within just the first semester at MICA. I am so thankful for that. It is not easy here either. You're not alone in facing that problem.
IN 11 SHORT DAYS I WILL SEE YOU FACE TO FACE!
