The city of Bournemouth itself, well, I heard one of the Arts Institute staff refer to it as a "cultural wasteland." Still, it's got a nice beach, and it's just a bus ride away from various nicer fossil-rich beaches. Last weekend I went to a town called Lyme Regis and went on a fossil-hunting walk. I found a few little ammonites, and out of pity the tour guide gave me a few better-looking ones that he'd found. I'm very proud of my little fossils!

This is one the guide gave me out of pity.
The Arts Institute is apparently famous for film, so there are a ton of film production students here. I foresee a lot of movie-watching in the near future. Also there are people studying modelmaking (ohhh so cool!), costume design, acting... it's a nice refreshing change from MICA's all-fine-arts atmosphere. I feel like people here just learn how to make projects, and get things done, and that sounds fine to me.
I also added some old and new photos to a Facebook album. And I also have more journal entries, as you seem to enjoy them.
Hope classes are going well for all of you! I miss you guys! Think of me when you're watching Heroes tomorrow!

I don't think a hug is in my future either here in the Netherlands; unless, perhaps, if I call back the African guy who gave me his number. But I'm not sure I'll be able to call him back.
At any rate, we can have a good hug when I visit you!! I miss hugs.
